Terms of Service
Last updated: December 3, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website operated by New Jersey Moving & Storage LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") and your booking and use of our moving and related services. By accessing our website, submitting a quote request, or booking services with us, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services
New Jersey Moving & Storage LLC provides residential and commercial moving and related services, which may include local and longer-distance moves, packing and unpacking, loading/unloading, and other services as agreed in writing or in your booking confirmation. Specific services, availability, and pricing may vary based on your location, inventory, access conditions, and other factors.
2. Estimates & Pricing
Any estimate or quote we provide—whether online, by phone, or in writing—is based on the information you supply and is not a final or guaranteed price. Final charges may vary based on actual time, labor, materials, access conditions, inventory, and any additional services requested on the day of the move.
You agree to provide accurate and complete information regarding your move, including inventory, special items, access limitations, and any other relevant details. Significant differences between the information provided and the actual conditions may result in additional charges or require rescheduling.
3. Booking, Deposits & Cancellations
Our booking, deposit, and cancellation policies may be communicated:
- On your written estimate or confirmation email, and/or
- By phone, text, or email when finalizing your booking.
By confirming your booking, you agree to any deposit or cancellation terms provided to you at that time. In general, late cancellations, rescheduling on short notice, or no-shows may result in forfeiture of a deposit and/or additional fees to compensate for reserved crew and truck time.
4. Access, Parking & Conditions
You are responsible for ensuring safe and legal access for our trucks and crews at both the origin and destination locations. This includes obtaining any necessary parking permits, clearing driveways and walkways, and informing us of obstacles, restricted access, stairs, elevators, long carries, or other conditions that may affect the move.
If our crew determines that conditions are unsafe or significantly different than disclosed, we may adjust pricing, modify the scope of work, or refuse service in our discretion.
5. Prohibited & Restricted Items
For safety and legal reasons, we may refuse to transport certain items, including but not limited to:
- Hazardous materials (flammables, explosives, corrosives, fuels, etc.).
- Illegal items or substances.
- Perishable food or live animals.
- Valuables such as cash, jewelry, important documents, or irreplaceable items.
You agree not to include prohibited items in your shipment. We are not responsible for loss or damage involving items we have advised you not to pack or that are otherwise prohibited.
6. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Be present or have an authorized representative on-site during the move.
- Ensure that items are properly packed unless packing services are included.
- Identify fragile, high-value, or special-care items to our crew before the move begins.
- Review and sign any required documents at pickup and delivery.
- Pay all charges when due as outlined in your confirmation or bill.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for loss or damage to goods is limited to the level of coverage disclosed to you in writing or agreed at the time of booking (for example, standard valuation coverage or any optional valuation you may have selected).
We are not liable for normal wear and tear, minor cosmetic damage, pre-existing damage, inherent defects in furniture or materials, damages resulting from your improper packing, or for conditions beyond our reasonable control (including weather, traffic, third-party delays, or building restrictions).
In no event shall New Jersey Moving & Storage LLC be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or loss of use, arising out of or related to our services or these Terms.
8. Claims
If you believe an item has been damaged or lost, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible after the move is completed. We may require written notice describing the issue, supporting documentation, and an opportunity to inspect the item and the location.
Failure to report damages within a reasonable time may limit our ability to investigate and may impact any adjustment or resolution.
9. Website Use
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit anyone else's use of the website. We may modify or discontinue any part of the website at any time without notice.
